Are you a Fire Fighter that has had long-term exposure to Fire Fighting Foam?
If you are a fire fighter that has had long-term exposure to fire fighting foam (Aqueous Film-Forming Foam or AFFF) you may have been exposed to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These substances are man-made chemical compounds that are frequently found in fire fighter foam used to extinguish fires by fire departments and airports across the country. The Environmental Protection Agency, along with other federal agencies, have issued health warnings regarding the use of fire fighting foam containing these chemicals.
Health experts have classified PFAS as a carcinogen (likely to cause cancer). Long-term exposure to PFAS creates a buildup in the body that has been shown to cause several types of cancer, including Kidney cancer, Testicular cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Bladder cancer, Prostate cancer, Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Neuroendocrine tumors. Fire fighters are at a higher risk for developing these cancers due to the potential frequent use of fire fighting foam that contains PFAS.
See If You Qualify for Compensation.
You may be able to seek compensation through a civil lawsuit if PFAS caused your cancer. Berman, Sobin, Gross, Feldman & Darby, LLP is reaching out to our current clients and their families to see if they know someone who would qualify for inclusion into a large scale lawsuit against the manufactures of fire fighter foams that contain PFAS. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer after long-term exposure to fire fighter foam, please do not hesitate to call our office at 240-261-7834 or send us an E-mail to FireFoam@bsgfdlaw.comDownload Questionaire
